italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Vincenzo Consolo's 1976 novel 'Il sorriso dell'ignoto marinaio' is yet another
example of a Sicilian writer dealing with the vexed issue of the Risorgimento
in the South of Italy. In many ways it is also a response to Lampedusa's 'Il
Gattopardo'.
I hope this helps.
