*With apologies for cross-posting*
Hello all
For information the Access based tool for compiling metadata descriptions to
national standards that I mentioned in an earlier posting is available via
the askgiraffe site that Christine mentions. Follow the 'Wanted - Your data'
link, then scroll down the page to where it describes the 'askGiraffe
metadata tool' and how to get it.
I would strongly recommend the NGDF standard to anyone in the UK creating
records of their spatial data information. As well as its use in askGiraffe
it is the standard that has been adopted by the MAGIC project to support
sharing of geographic information between government departments, and it is
based on the Dublin Core metadata standard. DC, among many international
applications, has been adopted as the metadata standard for the UK
governments e-Government projects.
