John,
Am not sure what current situation is in full, but there has been a much
greater political resistance both from MSPs and from Scottish MPs in
Westminster to the introduction of an Aggregates Levy in Scotland (SNPin
particular are outright against it arguing it will work against Scotland's
interests). If introduced it is likely that the Sustainability Fund in
Scotland will amount to c. £3 million (according to a Westminster PQ back
in Feb - basis of calculation for the record is the Barnett Forumula). I
will enquire further as to the current state of play.
In Northern Ireland I understand there will be a phased introduction of the
levy over a number of years.
In Wales the National Assembly for Wales has recently consulted on the
distribution of the fund and will come forward with its own distribution
scheme soon.
Best wishes
Alex
