Yes:
1. the Highland Council in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise
created a database of interpretive facilities a couple of years ago. So far
however I haven't been able to access it.
2. In partnership with Local Enterprise Companies I have carried out audits
of public access issues and potential for archaeological sites in Caithness,
Sutherland, Ross and Cromarty, Nairnshire, and Badenoch and Strathspey. A
similar audit was carried out by Roger Miket for the former Skye and
Lochalsh District Council in 1995-6. Most of this information has been
linked to the SMR but there is a backlog.

Subject: Mapping the Interpretation of the Historic Environment
Has anyone, as part of the SMR or separately, tried mapping what
interpretative resources are available in an area. I was thinking of things
like interpretation panels, plaques, leaflets/trail guides, local history
books. If anybody has, I'd value some comment/feedback on the process.
