The Agents Working Group has on its work plan the following item:

Milestone: Develop a list of CCP (Creator / Contributor /
Publisher) qualifiers.

Qualifiers would allow for the ability to express information about these
three elements (collectively referred to as "Agents"), particularly agent
classes, types and role in relation to the resource.

It was suggested at the Tokyo Dublin Core meeting that Robina Clayphan and
Rebecca Guenther work jointly on this deliverable, mainly because of the
ongoing work of the DC-Libraries Application Profile drafting
committee. DC-Lib AP includes recommendations for the use of Dublin Core
qualifiers for the elements Creator, Contributor, and Publisher. It is
currently undergoing revision, to be completed in April 2002 and discussed
at the May meeting of the DCMI Usage Board.

These issues, resulting in two proposals, have been discussed on the DC
Libraries Application Profile list as part of the revision of that
document, but is not intended solely for that domain. Comment is invited
from other domains, particularly the Agents Working Group.

As a result of discussion it was decided to separate the issue of agent
Roles from other agent-related data and offer two proposals. One
describes a means of recording a Role for an agent and another suggests a
means to encompass other information about the resource that is also
related to the agent.

Within the next few days, we will be submitting two proposals for the
review of the Agents and DC-Libraries Working Groups.

Rebecca Guenther and Robina Clayphan
