Dear All
I am currently undertaking some research into the flexion / extension
movement tests currently used in physiotherapy practice (as taught by
Kinetic Control). My problem is I am having dreadful trouble getting
subjects.
I am looking for people who have no history of significant low back pain
(see below for exclusion criteria). Any ideas for getting these would be
appreciated eg students, army.....

This is a summarised version of our screening questionnaire.
Criteria
No significant history of low back pain. By significant we mean:
You have not had more than 1 episode of back pain.
Any episodes of discomfort have lasted less than 1 day
No treatment has been sought for the pain
No time has been taken off work or education as a result of the pain
You have not been confined to bed as a result of the pain
You have not had any - pins and needles, numbness or muscle weakness
associated with the discomfort.
The discomfort has not interfered with activities of daily living e.g.
washing, work
Over 18 years
No known scoliosis or bony deformity
No history of tuberculosis
No long-term medical conditions (please clarify)
No history of spinal fractures
No regular episodes of pain anywhere in your body (includes severe period
pain)
Not currently taking muscle relaxant or anti-inflammatory medicines
No history of mental illness
No allergy to plasters
