Hi John
If you are contemplating doing research using patients, you will need to get
ethical approval from the source of the patients rather than the source of
your employment . However, I would only go to an Ethics Committee after
getting help from another agency, because your research proposal, literature
search and methods need to be water-tight before you go to one of these. See
if your local Trust has a Research & Development group who may be able to
help you. And /or your local further education institution who may be able
to help you tie your work in with a further qualification and research
methods tuition.
Good luck - I hope you find the right people to help you.
