Subject: Edexcel A Level - Deutschland seit 1990
Have I after 25 years of succesfully negotiating the pitfalls of syllabus choice finally loused up!?
In a moment of madness, I agreed with my students to tackle this area on the Edexcel Topics and
Texts A2 paper. We are new to the Edexcel A Level and possibly did not know what the rest of you had
known for years, i.e. Don't touch this one with a bargepole.
Nevertheless, I am now in too deep and writing materials like mad. I have used the Goethe Institut
folder entitled Die Folgen der Wiedervereinigung and am waiting for two others, Die Politik and
Ausländer. I would appreciate help from anyone with experience or suggestions as to the perfect
source for good almost ready to go materials! There is a ready supply of material which relates to
the consequences of reunification but the likely major political events of the last 10 years are
proving hard to pin down. I know in my heart as a Germanist that I should have views on Schröders
chancellorship but courtesy of the many other pressures as Head of Department, frankly, I don't.
Any help much appreciated. I would be very willing to reciprocate with some of my own materials. If
on the other hand you feel it serves me right for choosing it in the first place, then could I
remind you again of my previous 25 years unblemished record?
