Dear Lindsay
I spoke to our IT department and they suggested the following:
either right-click on the Tif file and choose to run the Microsoft Photo
Editor as the associated programme (most versions of Microsoft Windows have
this programme incoporated).
or download the Tif file and resave as a .gif file (which can then be opened
using most versions of Microsoft Windows with programmes such as Microsoft
Photo Editor, Paintshop etc)
or look at other options on http://www.ci.phoenix.az.us/tiffview.html
Kind regards
Anthony Valcke

Subject: TIF files
Dear all
A colleague has received an attachment to an e-mail as a TIF file and we are
having problems trying to open it. I know that documents on EUR-lex are
often available in this format, does anyone know what these files actually
are and how to read them?
Any advice gratefully received.
