Hi all,
Two days of Blackboard training has been set up for April 23rd and
24th at Canterbury Christ Church University College. The days are open
to external colleagues.
Trainer: Jeremy Benson
Jeremy is an accredited Blackboard trainer .He has recently set up his
own company "e-cademia." He has particular experience of Blackboard in
FE.
There will be two days of training provided. You may want to attend
both or just one.
April 23rd-Day 1
9:30-4:00
Introduction to Blackboard-all day- creating, adding and managing
content in a Blackboard course, and customizing the environment.
I have told Jeremy that the last thing we want is an overview, as most
us have been exposed to presentations ad infinitum. He has promised
nitty-gritty hands-on.
April 24th-Day 2
9:30-4:00pm
Day 2 is designed to take a more in- depth look
Two separate sessions, morning and afternoon.
Morning.
Collaboration and Communication tools-using Blackboard's
Discussion Boards, Virtual Classroom, and Digital Drop Box
Afternoon
Working with assessments and managing grades-creating and
delivering online assessments and managing the online grade book.
Attendees may do both days or just one day.
The training is open to external visitors, particularly
members of the Kent and Medway e-learning network.
CCCUC will be providing training to internal staff as well.
We have decided to set the rate to external visitors as £100 per day
strictly no profit-just to defray costs. It includes lunch, materials
and refereshments. There is a strict limit of 15 on Day 2. Day 1 is
more flexible but will still be limited to about 15 participants.
The training will be held at CCCUC's Canterbury site. Room location etc
will be announced to all attendees.
Hope this is of interest to some of you.
