The Official Statistics Section Committee of the Royal Statistical Society
is seeking new members for the 2002/2003 session.
The main work of the Official Statistics Committee is to organise a
programme of meetings that are typically held at monthly intervals. But the
OSS Committee participates in a variety of other ways in RSS activities.
The development of National Statistics, the creation of the National
Statistics Commission, and the aim of the RSS to
broaden its membership, make this participation of special interest at this
time.
The Committee conducts business by email, and meets five or six times a year
in London. The RSS pays reasonable travel expenses. Previous experience
is not required. It is not necessary to be a Fellow of the Society - you can
just become a member of Official Statistics Section. Applications are
specially encouraged from young people. The existing Committee has plenty
of maturity.
Please contact me if interested.
