TARGETING MR X - BUT IS HE MR RIGHT?
SAMPLING, WEIGHTING, PROFILING, SEGMENTATION AND MODELLING
17 April 2002
Imperial College, London
The ASC is pleased to announce the preliminary program for its next
one-day conference, "Targeting Mr X".
People are always trying to gain an understanding as to why people have
taken a certain action or purchased a certain item. Therefore researchers,
analysts and people in business try to understand these groups in order to
provide them with the services and products they want in the future. There
are a number of ways that this can be achieved, including:
* Sampling techniques
* Weighting data techniques
* Data profiling
* Segmentation and modelling
* Software for conducting analyses
Focussing on these and related topics, the programme will include the
following presentations:
* BERNARD CHUDY, Enteleca, 'Entype: developing a new buyer value
segmentation'
* JOHN HENDRICKX, Management Studies Group, Wageningen UR, The Netherlands,
'Weighting Problems'
* JAMES DEBENHAM, JOHN STILLWELL and GRAHAM CLARKE, School of Geography,
University of Leeds 'Extending Geodemographic Classification'
* BLAIR FREEBAIRN, Plato Marketing Solutions, 'Incorporating spatial
atributes into predictive models of customer behaiviour'
* PAUL SMITH, National Statistics, title to be announced.
There will be at least one more paper and the ASC AGM.
