You have the same problems as with monitors plus a delay. While using a
monitor you may adjust the monitor and the graphic card by measuring
luminance. Using a VSG card, it is quite easy, otherwise you have to
calculate the appropriate data on your own. Calibrating a beamer is a bit
more difficult. You'll find some more information at:
http://www.crsltd.com/support/whitepapers/projectors/
There is some delay in most of the beamer. I've contacted several producers
but none of them could give me detailed and correct answers. So you have to
measure it: Take a photo diode and connect it to your PC via ADC card.
Connect a second PC to your beamer and let it turn the screen from white to
black several times (e.g. every 100 ms for 5 min). Every time you turn the
color (check the timing!), send a signal to your first PC and sample it
together with your photo diode. Using this setup we found that our beamer
keeps the screen for one refesh period in its memory before presenting it.
