Jenny - Question - is the EBEA affiliated to the Royal Economic Society?
Is not being part of National Curriculum in fact a strength - not a
weakness?
The International Baccalaureate has increasing numbers of Economics students
- like for like sales so to speak. And growing overall at 12% (from low
base).
Whatever happened to the requirement in the National Curriculum that
Economics be taught cross curricular?
Is there a reserve that EBEA can speculate with? - think of Keynes and
King's College finances.
Can the city be tapped for finance (or is that already happening) - surely
they have a vested interest?
Can EBEA evolve into an exam board?
Can EBEA sponsor further education MBA/MA with an affiliated university?
Looking at board of our equivalent body in the USA - they have high profile
(Nobel Prize winning!) economists on board.
Can EBEA run student conferences at same time as teacher conferences.
Do teachers ever leave money to the EBEA in their wills?
Can EBEA sponsor a student essay prize or yearly journal - see American
Concorde review for History. This to raise profile of EBEA.
Does EBEA own property - how about a permanent building in London with
bedrooms like Royal Colleges of Doctors etc. Could we buy a property linked
to Keynes, Ricardo or some other famous economist. A long term plan!
In paper today - some government minister with a 3rd in Economics - can we
identify all economists/business graduates in the Commons and Lords and give
them honary membership?
