Thanks Mike.
These are mainly 'redirection' cases, which in many cases are the way
forward (rather than just taking people to A+E).
The 'treat and release' I was referring to is the kind where the paramedic
actually assesses and treats the patient and 'discharges' them without need
for referral to another agency.
I think there is a link to the absence of district nurses and GPs willing to
do house calls in North America.
Would you like to see this introduced in the UK, and what do you think the
required paramedic curriculum would be for this?

LOCUM123.COM Frequently Asked Questions
How can you afford to provide this service without charging commission?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The software was written by a full-time GP, there are very few overheads and
telecom companies give a discount for bulk sending of SMS text messages.
This means practices and NHS trusts save staff time and agency costs, locums
gain a simple, free system that allows them to take control of how they
receive offers of work, and the whole thing pays for itself with the
discounts achieved by sending the text messages from one central source.
