Our bed manager refused to accept my decision to admit a patient with
dodgy chest pain last week. She waited until the PRHO had seen the
patient and agreed with my decision before looking for a bed. So a PRHO
who was a medical student yesterday was considered more trustworthy than
me (a mere staff grade and occasional locum consultant 13 years post-
reg). Hmmmm. More to do with pressure from their managers to delay
"starting the clock ticking" for bed wait delays.
