Dear Sir or Madame,
The Freie Universität Berlin would like to invite you to take part in our pilot
study for the DIALANG language test. Some of you may have already heard
about DIALANG, but for those who do not yet know much about it, I would
like to give some brief information.
DIALANG is developing diagnostic tests in 14 European languages and is the
biggest European project in the field of culture and education at present.
During its current second phase, the project is coordinated by the Freie
Universität Berlin, with 19 other partners from within the EU and EFTA also
involved in the test development. For the first time all tests will anchored to
the Common European Framework levels, they will be available for free on the
Internet and they will test all levels of language ability. They will be diagnostic
and they will give an instant feedback.
At the moment DIALANG offers pilot tests in German, English, Swedish,
Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish and Norwegian and we are looking for
partners who would like to support our pilot study. Perhaps it would be
possible for you to offer the tests at your institution, or may be you know
other people who would like to do this. Although the test is only a pilot
version, participants will receive a result which approximates to the end
version. To be able to download the software you need 60 RAM. a soundcard
and headphones. To get the software for the test you need to register at
www.dialang.org and the next day you will receive an e-mail from us enabling
you to download the software. We would be very pleased if you could support
our pilot study. With many thanks
yours sincerely
Sabine Kinzius
