Social processes are not linear and unidirectional. There are many
simultaneous centrifugal and centripetal processes, and we are very far
from your "global empire". The Cocacolaization and CNNinzation of the
world is far to dissolve local identities. Don't make globalization a new
religion.

Definitely. Today the American support of Israel is more an economic,
social and political burden, among the other avoiding compromise between
the Jews and Palestinian. Israel is a military and high-tech superpower by
itself. As the entire world, Israel is in a tem[porary economic crisis
(globalization?), but we have one of the highest GNP in the world, and
we don't need external support. The annually 3 miliard dollar the US
granting to Israel is mainly an indirect subsidy of American military
industry.
