M Curie Postgrad Fellowship:~Socio-Economic Aspects of
New/Digital Media
Applications are invited for a doctoral student
research Fellowship addressing socio-economic
or policy aspects of new/digital media, based in
Dublin City University. This Marie Curie fellowship
covers a 3-12 months period of research and is funded
under the EU's Fifth Framework Programme *
The Fellowship will be based in the Communication,
Technology and Culture (COMTEC) research centre,
DCU. Founded in 1991, COMTEC is an
interdisciplinary research unit focused on the
socio-economic and policy aspects of new ICTs
and the changing information economy. The COMTEC
centre combines expertise in the fields
of socio-cultural shaping of technology, political
economy of communication and information policy studies.
The duration of the doctoral student fellowships may
range from 3 to 12 months. Closing Date for applications
(for the current round) is 26 February 2002
Applicants are expected to have a sufficient fluency
in English to cope with writing and interviewing etc at
postgraduate research level.
