I have pointed out some difficulties. It is incorrect to claim a doi (or handle in general)
in un-escaped form as a URI.
My favorite doi --> URI mapping would be that of a URN namespace.
It is outside
of DCMI's authority to make recommendations on a doi --> URI mapping.
