Andrew,
Have you looked at DAML (http://www.daml.org/) and OIL
(http://www.ontoknowledge.org/oil/)? They are extensions to RDF that allow
to you do define more complex relationships, such as: complementOf,
equivalentTo, inverseOf. Hope this helps.
