Three Lectureships
Literature
DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND COMPARATIVE LITERATURE
Available from 1 September 2002
Building on its success in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise,
Goldsmiths will be combining the strengths of the English and European
Languages departments to establish a new Department of English and
Comparative Literature from the start of the 2002-2003 session. This excit=
ing
new initiative will enable the College to draw on the research strengths o=
f our
staff to offer programmes combining English, European, American, and Latin=
American literatures, as well as to continue to offer more traditional deg=
rees
involving English and European languages.
The Department aims to extend its teaching strengths in modern French,
Spanish, and Latin American literatures. Your teaching and research
interests will be within one or more of those areas. In addition an abilit=
y and
willingness to teach in some area of English or American literature is
essential.
You will have a PhD (or be near to completion). Teaching experience at
undergraduate level is essential, postgraduate level would be an advantage=
.
You will have a sound research record, evidence of publication in accordan=
ce
with RAE criteria and clear signs of future research potential. Researcher=
s
active in comparative literary studies involving Anglophone literature may=
be
at an advantage.
Salary for all posts will be on either Lecturer A scale: =A322,604- =A326,=
569 or
Lecturer B scale: =A327,589 - =A334,371 per annum inclusive.
