Some members of the list may be interested of a new report that
describes and analyses childcare arrangements of lone parent
families in Europe, particularly in Finland, France, Italy,
Portugal and the UK. This comparative report that is based on
original qualitative interviews with lone parents is available
at http://www.uta.fi/laitokset/sospol/soccare/ together with
national reports from each of the five countries.
The report was produced for the European Commission as a part of
the SOCCARE project. The SOCCARE project is a comparative
research project funded by FP5, Socio-Economic Key Action.
It studies the strategies of families in the five European
countries to combine informal and formal care with participation
in paid employment.
In addition to the lone parent reports, national reports of the
next phase of the project are already available at the same
address. This phase focuses on dual-career families, on their
care arrangements for children and older people.
