VLE workshop by Economics LTSN

Dear colleague,
Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) are providing a new
opportunity to enhance learning and teaching practice in UK
education, bringing together many successful uses of online
learning into one integrated learning environment.
This workshop, hosted by Economics LTSN will give an
overview of VLEs and their capabilities. It will involve exploring
examples of current VLE use in economics - some case studies will be
presented and there will be opportunities to discuss ideas and issues
of VLE use.
The workshop will also involve hands-on experience of using
the commercial VLE system, Blackboard.
Kate Boardman and Prof.Tony Antoniou, from the University of
Durham will share their experiences of using Blackboard and
Gulielmo Volpe, from the University of North London will
discuss the use of WebCT in his department.
The workshop will be facilitated by Ros O'Leary and Chris Mitchell from
the Economics LTSN centre.
The venue: The workshop will take place at the Computer Centre,
University of Bristol
