medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
A few years ago, when France won the World cup of football (soccer), the sentence
"Zidane won the final match of the world cup in front of millions of fans"
had been translated by
"Zidane a gagne la derniere allumette de la tasse du monde devant des millions de
ventilateurs."
I didn't know the desease was increasing and reached now old french or latin.
In France, the politically correct expression "nous ne sommes pourtant plus au Moyen
Age" appears each time people seems to be despaired whith the poor justice and
intelligence of our contemporaries. In fact, we are before the Middle Ages, exactly
in the time of Babel's "brouillement des langues" (scrambling of languages ?)
Nevertheless,
Happy new Year to all the list-members!
