A quick reminder - the February 15 deadline for electronic submission of
.pdf papers for the Dublin NIME 2002 conference on New interfaces for
Musical Expression (May 24-26) is only 3 weeks away. We request that all
authors prepare papers use the publication templates now posted on the
conference website:

Detailed instructions for authors are also now posted there, and more
conference information will be added within the upcoming week. We will
also have space for demos and are collecting proposals for performances
that showcase new musical interfaces. Please consult the submission
instructions posted on the above website for detailed guidelines to
contribute in any of these categories - also see the information below.

SUBMISSION GUIDE
NIME 2002 invites contributions in three submission
categories - papers, performances and demos.
Details for submitting under each of these categories
are given below.
Papers:
Submissions in the category of short paper will be
reviewed by the program committee and selected on
the basis of quality. All papers should be of
publishable quality and should not exceed 6 pages.
Only electronic submissions in .pdf format will be
considered. Additional materials (audio and video)
are also encouraged and should be published on the
web with links included in the submission.
Complete papers should be emailed to:

"paper templates" section of the website for detailed
information on paper format). Once the review
process has been completed, authors will have the
opportunity to make changes based on reviewers
comments before submitting their camera-ready copy
on April 1st 2002.
Performances:
We also welcome submissions in the category of
performance pieces. Successful submissions will be
included in one of the concerts associated with the
event.
To submit a work for performance, please email a
short (1 page) description of the work including its
duration, the set-up time and rehearsal time required
and a detailed list of technical requirements (sound,
light, stage area, etc.) This description should be

of the work for publication in the conference
proceedings. You should download the paper template

Demos:
Some time has been set aside in the conference
program for demonstration of working prototypes of
new musical instruments and interfaces. Successful
applications in this category will be given a space to
demonstrate their work within these time slots.

support required (power, lighting, space, etc.) to:
