It all depends on your interpretation of the meaning of disability.
According to the social model, if you read Michael Oliver's
work,(1990,1996,) UPIS 1976. you will see that the definition of disability
is purely environmental, much like Patrick Fougerallas definition of
"situation handicap" I was responding to the question, in that sense.
As a researcher, I don't think that there are wrong questions.
But you are correct in saying most people would say yes to the question.
Not all people, those who have moved into disability culture probably would
not. Not where most of us are, or are permitted to be in real life. That
does not mean that this group of people with disability that talk about
disability culture, being a minority as they may, do not have a valid point.
It is true that is the biomedical model is too strong to be overcomed by
only two generations.
