Hi
I wonder if anyone can assist with this query around sexuality and children
with physical impairments? Please reply to the original sender who is not a

Subject: physical disability/personal relationships
Mark,
I am National Contact Officer for The Arthrogryposis Group (TAG) and I also
work for Contact a Family. Having a physically disabled child myself I am
acutely aware of the lack of information and support for older children and
young adults with physical disabilities (and their parents/carers). I have
attended a number of events supposedly concerning disability and sexuality
and each time the focus has been almost solely on the issues concerning
those with learning difficulties. Equally, much of the literature available
would also appear mainly to cover learning disabilities. Contact with other
groups for specific conditions points to the same.
Do you have any suggested reading, or perhaps your studies have covered
certain aspects of the above. I am hoping to put together an information
pack for TAG, but also to hold a local event on sexuality and physical
disability in general. Thus I would be very grateful for any comments that
you may have.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Sharon Baker
