The early bird gets the training! Last chance to get the big discount on
our Evidence Based Practice in Dentistry Course – 100 pounds (UK sterling)
off the course price if paid by 31st January 2002.

This 5-day course will be running for the third time in Manchester, UK in
April and May 2002. For more information see below, or look on our web
site: http://www.cochrane-oral.man.ac.uk/ebp.course.htm

The course aims to facilitate a learning experience that will provide the
skills to develop, implement and disseminate an evidence based care
approach for effective clinical practice.

The team of experienced tutors, based at the Cochrane Oral Health Group,
will facilitate learning through a variety of methods, and will be
structured to cater for specialist interests.

The following questions will be addressed:
v What is evidence based dentistry and what is the evidence?
v How can evidence be evaluated, synthesised and interpreted?
v What strategies are required to implement evidence based practice
in dentistry?
v How can we disseminate the skills of evidence based practice to
others?
v Can we use evidence based practice to develop cohesive research
strategies?

By the end of the course you will be able to:
v Understand the ideas and principles of evidence based practice
v Identify clinical issues where assessment of the evidence would be
helpful
v Search out and critically appraise relevant dental literature
v Interpret your findings and develop an implementation strategy
v Concisely present the evidence on a clinical issue
