THE GLOBALIZATION AND WORLD CITIES (GaWC) ANNUAL LECTURE 2002
The fourth annual GaWC lecture will be given by Professor John Rennie
Short, Syracuse University (New York) on the theme 'Economic globalization
and the city'.
Widely known for his work on the cultural economies of cities, place
marketing and cultural geographies of town and country, John is the author
of many widely-cited texts, including 'The Urban Order' (1996),
'Globalization and the City' (1999) and 'New Worlds, New Geographies'
(2001). He is currently Leverhulme Visiting Professor in the Department of
Geography, Loughborough University.
This lecture will held in the Schofield Building, room A0.01, Loughborough
University at 2.00 pm Monday 14th January. All are welcome. Those unable to
attend are advised that John's lecture will subsequently be published on
the GaWC web-site (http://www.lboro.ac.uk/gawc/)
