Translating the Postcolonial
Call for Papers for a One-Day Conference to be held at the Centre for
Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies, University of Warwick, on
Saturday, 9 March 2002.
The Centre for Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies at the Univers=
ity
of Warwick will be holding a one-day conference on "Translating the
Postcolonial" on Saturday, 9 March 2002. Confirmed speakers include
Professor Edwin Gentzler (University of Massachusetts, Amherst) and
Professor Harish Trivedi (University of Delhi). A related conference on =
the
theme of "Post-communist, Postcolonial," will be held at the Centre in Jun=
e.
Abstracts of about 300 words for 20-minute papers on any subject relevant =
to
the intersection of Translation Studies and Postcolonial Studies should be=
sent to Dr. John Gilmore at the Centre (e-mail:
[log in to unmask]) by 30 January 2002.
Registration for the conference will be =A340 and =A325 for students (plea=
se
provide proof of status at the time of registration). Tea and coffee is in=
cluded
in the fee. University facilities will be available for meals and a list =
of
accommodation in the area is available on request.
