Cyfraniad gan Bruce allan o "The Place-names of Pembrokeshire", gan B. G
Charles:
St. Elvis, Llaneilw
... The English name is a translation of the Welsh Llaneilw 'the church of
(saint) Elfyw' (if that was his actual name) ... The pers. name Elfyw is on
record ... It is held that the saint commemorated here is the Irish Ailbe
who is supposed to have had associations with Menevia and St. David ... If
E(i)lfyw was the Welsh form of his name the earliest forms in -vech, -vach
remain unexplained.
Felly, 'Carreg Eilfyw" ar gyfer Elvis Rock, meddai Bruce.
