Teaching With Contemporary and Historical
Census Data: A Workshop
Thursday, 31st January 2002, at Manchester
University
This workshop is part of a major JISC funded project
which aims to develop the Contemporary and Historical
Censuses Collection (CHCC) into a major networked
resource for teaching. It takes place exactly one year
after the first CHCC consultation workshop and aims to
give participants the opportunity to test out some of the
materials that have been developed during the first year
of the project. This workshop will focus specifically on
materials developed for the Census Area Statistics
(CAS) and the Samples of Anonymised Records (SARs).
This form of consultation with potential users is crucial to
ensure that the materials we are developing reflect the
real needs of teachers and learners. We hope that some
participants will be able to pilot the materials in their own
teaching programmes and the day will give practical
experience of how they can be used.
There is no registration fee for the workshop and lunch
will be provided. We are also able to make a 25 pound
contribution to travel costs
A programme for the day is available at:
