Dear Network Members

Following a period of internal review, I regret to inform the Network that the Teaching & Learning Unit at the University of Leicester will be unable to host another WDHE annual conference.  We (and that includes Maria, Melanie and Laura) would like to pass on our thanks for the positive feedback that we have received for our three events and to thank all participants and presenters for their good will in playing along with our plans. We would also like to thank the members of the WDHE Conference Committee for their support in the preparation, planning and staging of the conferences. 

We will be happy to play a full role in handing over our knowledge and experience to future conference organisers. If anyone is interested in hosting the next WDHE conference, and would like a 'behind the scenes' chat to discuss the work involved, please contact me directly by replying off-list to [log in to unmask] Please note that the TLU remains committed to publishing the proceedings from our last two events. The delayed 2001 proceedings will be available over the summer whilst work on the 2002 edition is already underway.

To close, we have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of staging the WDHE events and wish the next hosts well. I will post some feedback comments from the April conference under a separate message to prompt discussion of that important issue: where next?
