Community work includes a very wide range of activities all with the
central
aim of supporting people develop their own skills and awareness, both as an
individual and as communities; also to empower communities to regain
control
over and improve their own quality of lives. You have as much to learn from
the community as it does from your skills, training and experience.
You will be required to work with black and minority ethnic women in
communities within Cardiff & Vale and a variety of organisations.
The main objective of this position is to access/outreach hard to reach
communities and focus on needs and barriers that women face, developing
projects within MEWN Cymru scope of work.
The role will also require excellent verbal and written communication in
English plus a community language. Previous community development
experience
is essential.
This position is a part time position (15 hours) on a 6 months fixed term
contract.
