CALL FOR ABSTRACTS





"Health, Culture and Delivering Care Conference"

The Transcultural Nursing and Healthcare Association
and the
Foundation of Nursing Studies

Health professionals have a responsibility to provide culturally competent
care, in a manner that demonstrates respect for the race, religion,
ethnicity or culture of all patients.  This conference aims to:
*       Provide a showcase for practitioners, managers, teachers and
researchers to share good practice in patient care
*       Examine the ethical and practice implications of international
recruitment
*       Explore traditional and non-Western healthcare practices

Oral papers and poster presentations are invited.  These should address the
following themes:

Theme 1: Practice initiatives in the delivery of health and social care

Theme 2: Implications of international recruitment in relation to practice

Theme 3: User views and experiences

Theme 4: Traditional beliefs and systems in health care
              (e.g. Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, hakims, prayer)

Theme 5: Education and research

Abstracts should be typed, no longer than 150 words and submitted attached
to the application form overleaf. Successful applicants will be offered a
discount for the conference fee.  (Oral presentation - 50% discount for one
presenter, Posters 20% discount)
