Slightly off topic, but forewarned is forearmed....
Student UK/UCAS have been promoting a new service - Student 360 - where they
create a series of 360 degree virtual tour images which they then host and
link to from your institution profile on the StudentUK and UCAS websites
(you can also use them on your own website). They are using the same iPIX
system that we purchased for about £1300 to develop our own virtual tour at
http://www.shu.ac.uk/services/marketing/tour/index.html
Now, I'm not knocking the service they give (as I have no experience of it)
and the visibility of the UCAS website is not in question (16 million
impressions a month). But they offer three packages ranging from £1000 -
£3000 (plus an annual hosting fee), so if someone in your institution
suggests that signing up would be a good idea, you may be able to convince
them to buy you the kit and build the tour in-house yourself. Not only will
you save money, but you will also get a high quality camera and other
equipment to use for other projects.
You can find more online at http://www.studentuk.com/360/

PS - For every iPIX image you publish online you have to purchase an image
key (this is your only ongoing cost) - if you buy in quantity they cost just
over £8 each.
