The Faculty of Medicine Computing Centre (FMCC - http://www.fmcc.org.uk)
wishes to employ a highly motivated individual to join its nationally
renowned team to continue and enhance the work of the Networked Learning
Environments (NLE http://nle.ncl.ac.uk) project. The NLE uses a variety of
interesting and novel technologies including XML transformations,
dynamically driven websites, object-orientated programming and delivery to
other than web-platforms. It's currently used in four Medical Schools in
this country and we're aiming to expand it's usage and enhance its
potential. You'll need to be familiar with web programming, preferably using
Zope in a UNIX environment and be familiar with SQL (preferably using
MySQL). We want someone who is happy working in a team, but can work on
their own when necessary. Experience in Python would be a distinct
advantage, but is not a prerequisite. Experience of PHP would be helpful, as
would Perl. Graphic design skills in a web-based environment would also be
highly beneficial. Tenable for 2 years.
