having 3 sites also raises a priority 1 issue, namely that of site
maintenance, of updating alternative versions when the main one
changes. this is something i would seriously discourage, esp in
the academic setting, where a lot of web content is maintained by
non-professionals. text versions are bound to suffer as people
forget to update them too.
