I disagree Brian. That's not a legitimate use of frames. Internet
calaloguers should stop this practice now. It's annoying, prevents the
user from finding the URL of the page they actually want to see, and only
exists so that said cataloguer can continue to force their advertising on
the user (for example of this practice, see http://www.ask.co.uk).
I agree with Charles - we should make it impossible for them to
do this, so that cataloguers are forced to either change their practice,
or go out of business because they can't catalogue any of the major sites.
The only legitimate use of frames is if you chose to use them in your site
for navigation (and some people would argue that, but it's personal
choice).
