JOB OPPORTUNITY: ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER AT ENPC
(PARIS, FRANCE)
Within the DayWater European RTD project

co-ordinator, Professor Daniel Thévenot, at Cereve, ENPC.
Cereve is a research group common to 3 institutions: the French
institute of civil engineering (ENPC), the French Institute of Forestry,
Agricultural and Environmental Engineering (ENGREF) and Paris XII-Val de
Marne university (UPVM). Web page:

The 6 major tasks of the assistant project manager are:
1. Project quality control: procedure definition for scientific and
administrative document exchange and storage, management of DayWater
information exchanges with partners and EU representatives.
2. Meetings organisation: project meetings (5 in 3 years), regional
end-user meetings (8 during the first year) with 8 local partners,
international final conference (end of 3rd year).
3. Web sites management: internal and external web site development and
updating.
4. Newsletter management: design and structure definition, bi-annual
production, dissemination to partners, end-users, national and
international organisations.
5. Assistance to reporting: assist the program manager for the
preparation of EU bi-annual reports.
6. Assistance to financial management of the contract.
Preference will be given to individuals presenting both scientific and
management interest and skills. They should be native or have an
excellent knowledge in English, good knowledge in French, have obtained
a MSc or a PhD level in environmental science and technology. A
good knowledge of stormwater in urban area would be appreciated.
Furthermore, they should demonstrate expertise in scientific and
technical oral and written communication, interest and skills in human
interactions with scientists, PhD students and end-users (local,
regional
or national institutions), and have good work organisation skills,
within the strict administrative and time regulations of European RTD
contracts.
The position corresponds to a 3-year contract issued by ENPC. The
position starting time depends upon actual DayWater RTD contract
signature, which is likely to occur during fall 2002. The working place
is ENPC, within Cereve offices, at Marne-La-Vallee, 15 km east of
Paris, with easy rail and road connections (
