Dear all,
I would be very grateful if somebody could tell me if
the seepage velocity (U), in a column with a porous
media, is the same than the Darcy velocity. I’m
working with a 34 cm column with homogeneous porous
media and the flux it’s constant and vertical.
As I understood, U = -K dh/dx is the seepage or Darcy
velocity in a porous media and are related with the
mean linear velocity (v) as v = U/n, n: effective
porosity.
Am I wright?
If yes, how can I estimate the effective porosity from
the relative porosity (52%, measured experimentally)
of a sample?
I tank you in advance.
Regards,
Claudia
