Post-Graduate Vacancies
EU Research Training Network

Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in the Department of Civil
and Environmental Engineering, Imperial College, London. The research
focuses on extending and enhancing an in-house developed integrated urban
wastewater system model to become a part of a regional (river basin) model
including advanced control features. The work will be part of a newly formed
European Research Training Network entitled 'Getting Systems Engineering
into Regional Wastewater Treatment Strategies' in co-operation with leading
European academic institutions. The position offers an excellent opportunity
to work on a world-class international research project. The researcher will
be based in London and be part of a EU-wide team of workers. EU Research
Training Networks place great emphasis in training and mobility of
researchers and therefore provide the opportunity for researchers to work at
several other European universities for short periods.

The positions are available immediately.

The studentship is available for 39 months and includes tuition fees and a
stipend of £12000 per annum tax-free. Applicants should possess good
computing programming skills, and have experience or an interest in working
in the environmental engineering field. Applicants must be below 35 years of
age and be nationals of an EU Member State or Associated State and must not
have carried out their normal activities in the UK for the more than 12 out
of the last 24 months prior to the appointment. Applicants from other
countries are acceptable but they must have resided in the European
Community for the last five years (but have not resided in the UK for more
than 2 years in the last 5). This appointment is not available to UK
nationals.

Informal enquiries are welcome to:
Prof. David Butler ([log in to unmask] <mailto:d,[log in to unmask]>, Tel +44
