The London e-Science Centre, a regional e-Science Centre within the
national EPSRC/DTI e-Science Core Technology programme, cordially invites
you to a public lecture by Professor Ian Foster of the Argonne National
Laboratory.
Professor Foster is one of the pioneers of the Grid computing concept
which underlies the UK's e-Science programme and many international
activities in distributed scientific computing. Professor Foster is
co-leader of the Globus project, the Grid middleware used within the UK
e-Science programme, and has been involved in the development of
distributed computing environments for the support of scientific computing
for the last decade.
The Open Grid Services Architecture represents the next generation of Grid
middleware formed through the convergence of e-commerce and e-science
requirements.
