Subject: Downloading NLN materials


Dear ILT Champions

At a meeting with the JISC it had been agreed to develop an aggregated
download facility for the NLN materials.  This is now available and will
make the business of downloading the material to college servers much
quicker.  Please note that there are three possible levels of download
(please click on the url below for an explanation of the three levels).

You are able to download by
1       subject category or
2       topic or
3       individual learning materials.
The JISC - through the Regional Support Centres - are also organising the
access rights to the download facility.  If your college hasn't already
received download permissions organise it now, through your RSC.
What to do to gain download rights:
In order to gain download rights, colleges must nominate 2 or 3 individuals
within their organisation, probably technical staff such as the Network
Manager, who will be responsible for carrying out the download . They must
then inform their local Regional Support Centre (RSC) who will allocate
download rights to those individuals.
