Expanding the Network to the Home and Workplace

This workshop will complement the technology trials by examining issues
surrounding the support of end users (learners and tutors) and those
responsible for managing the network, such as the provision of first
line support, training and documentation. Such provision of networking
would increase the usage of the network but more importantly the end
users will be demanding support out of the normal 9 - 5 working hours
and expecting 24 hour cover. Providing services 24 hours a day raises
many issues within an institution from strategic to operational.

The workshop will be a mixture of presentations and discussion
sessions, the latter enabling delegates to identify key issues leading
to recommendations to the JISC and other partner organisations as
appropriate.
