Thanks to all for comments on this. There is perhaps a small theme emerging
in terms of my recent preoccupations - the reaction of others to a poet or
to the particular words used in poems - parents, best friends, lovers. Seems
like most folk feel a little special to know a poet, excited in a lot of
cases, but when they know the poet as a person as well each work seems in a
way ordinary - ordinary enough to pick apart and suggest change, while at
the same time remarkable and unusua, a little above the everyday. Something
like that anyway. Amazing reactions to sit back and contemplate, as I seem
to have been doing.
Thanbks again,
Cheers,
Frank
