Hi James,
I keep reading this poem and enjoy what's coming until I get to the last
stanza. Somehow, after how the rhythms worked so far, the sounds get very
complex. Maybe it's the "at last" and the dash" that does things to my
reading...
But it may also be that I'm having to think about both the ducks feeling
pleased with themselves, and then goose that the writer feels pleased about
as well!
