Hi folks,
Check it out. Frank suggested an idea that struck me as being a real
challenge - to create a poem which consisted entirely of first lines. I
took him up on it and came up with the following poem. (Thanks Frank!)
So, actually, if I utilized each line, specifically for the first line of
a new poem, I'd (theoretically) end up with 17 poems! Hmm….what an awesome
challenge THAT would be!
BUT, not only that, it occurred to me that this would be a great formula
to use for a pantoum…and I tried it and included it below the poem.
I definitely like the first poem better, but the pantoum ain't half bad
either!
C&C welcome - have fun folks!

In Your Pocket
(a poem of first lines, for Frank)
Because she says it to you
with a single look
underneath half-lowered lids
inviting you to bite
A dilemma arises
For all you know or hope
she may simply be sleepy
under the dark influence of night
You wonder if you should speak
nonchalantly pay for her drink
move over a seat or two
wait for her to begin
the conversation which includes lips
tongue and teeth movements
possibly the placement of her hand
above your knee and below the bulge
in your pocket
