Dear David,
I'm all for traditional rhyming forms, but I'm not to keen on using words
like 'fey' for rhyming purposes. Not only has 'fey' degraded in general use
to something resembling 'gay' but it has a very old-fashioned feel.
Also,-shock, horror,-you've used a split infinitive.
If it is intended to be tongue-in-cheek, as I suspect, I think you have to
make the humour less subtle. For me, it falls between two stools.
Kind regards,
grasshopper

Subject: I Saw a Snowdrop
I Saw a Snowdrop
I saw a snowdrop yesterday.
Proclaiming spring's around the corner
seems premature; I'll simply say
I saw a snowdrop yesterday!
It filled my head with thoughts so fey
I called my Muse to thus forewarn her:
"I saw a snowdrop yesterday
proclaiming spring's around the corner".
